These are times of great uncertainty, times of massive transition and slowing down, but we must keep the momentum and positivity going.
It may be difficult to deal with everything on the news right now as a small business owner, or business professional who has recently started a new career. The uncertainty brings higher levels of stress which can also contribute to a weakening immune system. Even a healthy organization can feel the wrath of sickness as the world begins to panic, just like our own health can.
“There is nothing like frugality.
Only by being frugal can you recover quickly.
When you recover quickly you accumulate virtue,
There is nothing you can’t overcome
Who knows the limits of your capabilities?
These limits being unfathomable
You can possess the country. “
Tao Te Ching, chapter 59
The key is to remain calm, keep the momentum going, and spread love. As a karmic practice, it is best to treat other businesses and business owners as you would like to be treated. Meaning, supporting each other during a crisis so your own business doesn’t falter. This can be done in a variety of ways, not limited to purchasing or supporting financially, but through recommendations, reviews and sharing other businesses through your platforms and network connections.
“The sage does not hoard,
She gives people her surplus .
Giving her surplus to others she is enriched.
The way of Heaven is to help and not harm. “
Tao Te Ching, chapter 81
Knowing what we know about the yin yang approach to business (see previous posts on this), we know that to every dark side, there is a light, with every negative there is a positive.
Take your own time to reflect, don’t allow negativity to become engrained in your business as we navigate these waters. Meditate and be mindful, this is the time to recenter your efforts on things that matter most to your business.
Stay healthy and happy everyone.
