True words are not fancy.
Fancy words are not true.
Lao Tzu
Welcome to Wednesday.
Today we bring awareness to our words when writing emails, speaking to colleagues, clients, prospects, etc.
Following the fluidity of the Tao it is understood that one action brings about another action. The exchange of true words for fancy or more elaborate words can convey an opposing message in the context of this quote. We should be mindful and use simpler words at times to convey true meaning of what we are trying to say, if you have strong belief in it’s truth.
The good do not debate.
Debaters are not good.
Lao Tzu
In order to evolve further, we should consider listening to views that oppose our personal beliefs constantly. This allows for the opposing thought to give you a different perspective on yours and thus broadens your experience on the matter.
Our personal beliefs are shaped by the experiences we’ve had. Considering that each person has their own experiences, everyone’s beliefs are different. Debating without full knowledge of their experience will make us uncertain of our own beliefs. Debating a topic we aren’t certain of is counter intuitive to our productivity and personal development.
The fluidity of the Tao allows for whatever you believe in to become certain to you without requiring validation from outside sources.
Are you willing to use simplicity to convey your message today and listen rather than debate opposing views?
